The theme for Met Gala 2021 was In America: A lexicon of fashion” with homages to American icons, blunt political statements and thoughtful takes on the US identity and heritage. This year’s Met gala was a more intimate affair due to the ongoing pandemic with only about a third of the usual guest list invited to participate in fashion’s biggest night.
The annual soirée took place on the 13th of September 2021 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York with Hollywood Celebrities dressed in the most fashionable regalia. However, compared to previous years, the Met Gala Looks for this year were not as creative.

This was the most outstanding look for the night.
She paid tribute to one of her idols, Cicely Tyson, with a dress designed by Samantha Black that pays tribute to Tyson’s 1974 Emmy’s look.
She was joined on the red carpet by the luxury label’s elusive creative director, Demna Gvasalia who was also entirely obscured in black as well.
She paid homage to Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Givenchy gown from the pivotal ball scene in My Fair Lady.
Her outfit was glammed up with silver ankle-strap stilettos, earrings, and a single neck chain which was heavily studded.
