QUESTION OF THE DAY “Could you ever agree to having your bridesmaids wear pant suit over conventional bridesmaid dresses“?
If you’ve never seen bridesmaids in pant suits instead of dresses, this may seem like a mumu one-off question lol.
However, the inspiration for this post came few months ago after I stumbled on an image (below) of a bride posing with her bridesmaids in navy blue pant suits.
My exact thought after bumping into this image on nairaland was “Ahn ahn, what is this? Who are these people? Hmmmm, things are happening o” lol.
My reaction was as a result of seeing the concept for the first time. You can’t blame me. I mean, in a world where we are used to seeing things in a particular way, it feels kinda weird to see fashion risk takers.
Well, a little research on my path recently, showed that the idea of bridesmaids in pant suits has been in existence since 2016. Amazing right?hehe
Anyway, enough with the ramblings. Let’s get back to our question. Would you let your bridesmaids wear pant suit to your wedding?
MY VERDICT: It doesn’t seem like a good opinion to me especially because there are a ton of options for bridesmaid dresses.
This subtly screams tomboy bridesmaids or low-key lesbian bridesmaids lol. Sorry, but I’m low-key bothered about what people think lol.
There are gorgeous bridesmaid dresses for non-muslims and modest bridesmaid dresses with hijab for muslim weddings. I’d rather go for either of them depending on my faith/religion or last-last If I am trying to do something different or crazy, I could opt for multi-coloured bridesmaid dresses as seen in our previous blog post.
In summary, this is a NO-NO for me. Now, once again, to you guys………..Can you let your bridesmaids wear pantsuits over dresses? Even in a situation where your bridesmaid won’t wear a dress?
