I woke up this morning cold as hell. Today definitely ringed in Harmattan for me. I wasn’t only cold but my body and lips felt dry as hell. If you live in Nigeria, you’ll agree that Harmattan(Dry Season) is finally upon us. The same applies to people outside Nigeria currently in the Winter season. That means our skin care routine has to be taken up a notch.
One of the worst things about Harmattan or Winter (depending on what part of the world you’re in) is the dry lips that comes with it. That makes lip balms of utmost importance this season you better not leave your house without one.
For someone like me who is prone to dry/chapped lips during harmattan, I know that there are lip balms that work and lip balms that don’t do a lot of moisturizing. Over the years, I have used a ton of lip balms from different brands and I know that some lip balms are really trash lol.
My experience with buying expensive lip balms that don’t do shit is the inspiration behind this post. Please note that this is not an advertorial for any of the brands mentioned in this post. In no particular order these are the best lip balms for dry lips.
1. Vaseline Lip Therapy
Vaseline skin care brand has been in the market for decades. For skin care business, I believe the only thing that can keep a brand in the market for so long is authenticity.
“See bah? Vaseline works”. The brand is true to what it says. Vaseline works wonders for dry skin and chapped lips. The mini containers makes it easy to carry around.
2. Nivea Lip Balm
Just like Vaseline, nivea has been in the skin care industry for over a decade. In my teens, I vividly remember my dad being a sucker for Nivea creams.
The new Nivea lip balm collection promises to give your lips the right amount of moisture it needs.
3. Dr Bronner Lip Balm
It is a natural lip balm for dry lips. It is made out of 100 percent organic products. That way you’re sure of no irritation. My friend in the U.S swears by these. You might as well cop them.
Finding a good lip moisturizer is tricky, as some can be irritating on chapped lips. However, you’re sure of no irritations with any of these brands. Also, I have to chip in that these lip balms great for men and women. There really is no gender stereotype to it.
Kiss dry, chapped lips goodbye with the best lip balms to keep in your back pocket year-round.
Now, on to you my lovely readers, have you tried any of these lipbalms?
