A Tale Of Nigerian Tailors LOL – Outfit Wahala

On today’s episode of a tale of Nigerian Tailors Brouhaha ? ? we’ve got a twitter user @averylils who ordered a custom made wrap dress from her Nigerian Tailor but got something negatively jaw dropping.

In a twitter rant, she placed a picture of the original design (worn by Sharon Ooja) she wanted along with what the tailor made and it’s totally hilarious. See the pictures below.

What She ordered

Nigerian Tailor disappointment

What are your thoughts on the outcome of the dress? I think the tailor failed to deliver and did a poor job. Infact, everything is wrong with this dress.

1. The choice of Fabric was a total fail. When choosing designs, the choice of fabric matters a lot. If you’ve worked in fashion, you’d agree that the power of a gorgeous dress lies in the fabric 80 percent of the time.

Sharon Ooja’s wrap dress looks like something made with “chiffon or crepe fabric”. It’s a tad bit obvious from the way it drapes on her body. It’s the duty of the dressmaker to tell her customer that “ankara” fabric isn’t a wise choice for the design.

Another thing to look out for when choosing designs is “the body shape of the wearer”. What looks good on Kylie Jenner may look terrible on Taylor Swift because they have different body shapes.

Kylie has an hourglass body shape while Taylor Swift has a banana or rectangular body shape. Body shape matters a lot in designs. From the images, these women have different body shapes. The design can never look the same on both of them.

I could go on and on about everything wrong. However, I’ll leave that for another day and probably write a separate “Tips & Tricks” post on what designs work best for individual body shapes.

Moving on…………………. what are your thoughts on this dress? Ever had your dress ruined by a Nigerian Tailor? How did you get through it? Drop your comments in the comment box below.
